There were a few hooks for me as a kid that really started the collector fever - this iconic snake eyes and storm shadow cover was the second of those issues (but part of the same story arc). The first was issue 45 and the ripcord zartan cover (I posted it a few months back) - after I read that book I asked my mother to take me back to the drug store where we bought it so I could get the next issue ( you notice they are newsstands). They had this issue displayed As the primary GIJoe issue- the fact there was still an issue 45 that I was able to buy once the issue 46s were out was unique happenstance. Usually once a new issue was published, they cleaned out all the old issues- however on this particular Sunday both issues where there for my mother to buy for me. The first upon our initial visit to the drugstore and the second about 2 hours later once I read it and begged her to go back so I could get the rest of the story. After that my collector obsession began. These issues are decidedly in the "personal collection - PC" part of my stash and unless something really weird transpires you will not see them "for sale" on my website anytime soon. however I share they story as I have been slacking in my blog posts as for late and I am going for some more volume.
